Jinn in the Quran

When it is said to them, “Follow what Allah has revealed,” they reply, “Rather, we will follow that upon which we found our fathers.” Even if Satan was inviting them to the punishment of the Blaze?

And [We destroyed] ʿAad and Thamūd, and it has become clear to you from their [ruined] dwellings. And Satan had made pleasing to them their deeds and averted them from the path, and they were endowed with insight.

And the Day the wrongdoers will bite on his hands, he will say, “Oh! I wish I had followed the Way along with the Messenger! Woe to me! I wish I had never taken so-and-so as a close friend. He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And Satan has

And We did not send before you any messenger or prophet except that when he spoke [or recited], Satan threw into it [some misunderstanding]. But Allah abolishes that which Satan throws in; then Allah will firmly establish precise His verses. And Allah is All Knowing and All Wise. [That is] so He may make what

Do you not see that We have sent the devils upon the disbelievers, inciting them [to evil] constantly?

O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan. And whoever follows the footsteps of Satan – indeed, he enjoins immorality and evil. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, not one of you would have been pure, ever, but Allah purifies whom He wills, and

And give the relative his right, and [also] the poor and the traveler, and do not spend wastefully. Indeed, the wasteful are brothers of the devils, and ever has Satan been to his Lord ungrateful.

And [mention] when We said to the angels, “Prostrate to Adam,” and they prostrated, except for Iblis. He [Iblis] said, “Should I prostrate to one You created from clay?” [Iblis] added, “Do You see this one whom You have honored above me? If You delay my end until the Day of Resurrection, I will surely destroy his
