And [mention] when We said to the angels, “Prostrate before Adam,” so they all did—but not Iblîs, who refused and acted arrogantly, becoming disbeliever. And We said, “O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat of the bountiful things therein as you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers.” But Satan caused them to slip out of it and removed them from the ˹blissful˺ state they were in, and We said, “Descend from the heavens as enemies to each other. You will find in the earth your dwelling place and your means of livelihood for a time.” Then Adam was inspired with words ˹of prayer˺ by his Lord, so He accepted his repentance. Surely He is the Acceptor of Repentance, Most Merciful. We said, “Descend all of you! Then when guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows it, there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve. But those who disbelieve and deny Our signs will be the residents of the Fire. They will be abide therein eternally.”
