Injeel, Tawrat and Zabur

He has sent down upon you, [O Muḥammad], the Scripture in truth, confirming what came before it. And He revealed the Tawrat and the Injeel. Ali ‘Imran 3

[And mention] when the angels said, “O Maryam, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, ʿIsā son of Maryam – distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those nearest to Allah. He will speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity and will be of the righteous.” She said, “My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has ever touched me?” [The angel] said, “So will it be. He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is. And He will teach him writing and wisdom and the Tawrat and the Injeel. Ali ‘Imran 45-48

Indeed, We have revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ as We revealed to Nuh and the prophets after him. We also sent revelation to Ibrahim, Ishmael, Ishaq, Yaqub, and his descendants, and ʿIsā, Ayyub, Yunus, Harun, and Sulayman. And to Dawud We gave the Zabur. An-Nisa 163

Indeed, We sent down the Tawrat, in which was guidance and light. The prophets who submitted [to Allah], judged by it for the Jews, as did the rabbis and scholars by that with which they were entrusted of the Scripture of Allah, and they were witnesses thereto. So do not fear the people but fear Me, and do not exchange My verses for a small price. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed – then it is those who are the disbelievers. And We ordained for them therein a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and for wounds is equal retaliation. But whoever waives it charitably, it is an expiation for him. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed – then it is those who are wrong doers. And We sent, following in the footsteps of the prophets, ʿIsā son of Maryam, confirming that which came before him in the Tawrat; and We gave him the Injeel, in which was guidance and light and confirming that which preceded it of the Tawrat as guidance and admonition for those who fear Allah. And let the People of the Injeel judge by what Allah has revealed therein. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed – then it is those who are the defiantly disobedient. Al-Ma’idah 44-47

Say, “O People of the Scriptures, you are [standing] on nothing until you uphold the Tawrat, the Injeel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord [the Qur’ān].” And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in transgression and disbelief. So do not grieve over the disbelieving people. Al-Ma’idah 68

And (on Judgment Day) Allah will say, “O ʿIsā son of Maryam ! Remember My favor upon you and your mother: how I supported you with the holy spirit so you spoke to people in infancy and adulthood. How I taught you writing, wisdom, the Tawrat, and the Injeel. How you moulded a bird from clay—by My Will—and breathed into it and it became a ˹real˺ bird—by My Will. How you healed the blind and the lepers—by My Will. How you brought the dead to life—by My Will. How I prevented Bani Isra’il from harming you when you came to them with clear proofs and the disbelievers among them said, “This is nothing but pure magic.” Al-Ma’idah 110

Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Tawrat and the Injeel, who enjoins upon them what is right and prohibits them from what is wrong and makes lawful for them what is pure and forbids them from what is impure and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him – it is those who will be the successful. Al-A’raf 157

Muḥammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in salat], seeking bounty from Allah and [His] pleasure. Their sign is in their faces from the effect of prostration [in salat]. That is their description in the Tawrat. And their description in the Injeel is as a plant which produces its offshoots and strengthens them so they grow firm and stand upon their stalks, delighting the sowers – so that He [Allah] may enrage the disbelievers by them. Allah has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds among them forgiveness and a great reward. Al-Fath 29

Then We sent Our messengers following footsteps of the prophets, and after them We sent ʿIsā son of Maryam, and gave him the Injeel. And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy. But they innovated monasticism – We did not prescribe it for them – only seeking the pleasure of Allah. But they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave the ones who believed among them their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient. Al-Hadid 27

And (mention) when ʿIsā son of Maryam said: “O Bani Isra’il ! I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the Tawrat which came before me, and giving glad tidings of a messenger after me, whose name will be Aḥmad.” But when he came to them with clear signs, they said, “this is obvious sorcery!” As-Saf 6
